Update on Nocturnal Visions Part 2

mleconte25

Our entire team on an online call discussed different concepts of how the project can be changed based on feedback from the showcase. Some ideas that were discussed is the more people the more animals the screen showcased. Also discussed rough concepts where there is connection of light poulltions to wildlife, more people, more residence and we can see more animals at night. Our Technical Team talked about another idea, involving the phone, tracking a certain body part, camera can pick up dark spots, use this to map the spot light on a dark screen.

Other elements that were said in this meeting is for our project we can have more sound which leads to more movement. We also considered adding sound to trigger more movement, however tracking may be difficult when standing pretty close to the camera is hard to track.

Our team talked about different challenges in regards to coding the interactions for multiple participants rather than just one at a time. We explored the ideas with interactions where various exhibit different behaviors where some disappear or hide while other animals such as an owl would fly over trees. To enhance the engagement, we considered setting boundaries for tracking specific body parts, such as revealing elements by moving a hand. The team suggested the adding of spotlights when animals appear, with one or two spotlights to highlight specific actions or movements.

We ended with an idea of how the screen will have a loop of an environment of animals moving around as people as people come can see the interaction where the spotlight will get will use a motion sensor to track movements and count heads.
